Video adapater installation note for the US VERSION SINCLAIR ZX80
My thanks to Australian ebay purchaser Duncan Morrison for sending in his findings when he installed a ZX8-CCB video adaptor on his U.S. Version ZX80. He wrote:
Hello, I received my purchase and spent the day installing and setting up the board - I have uploaded three pics along with my feedback of my ZX80 with the board installed.
I would like to point something out important that may be worth adding to your instructions - the non-European ZX80s have TR1 and a few extra resistors present plus the values of the sync and video resistors right of the modulator are also different. This results in a video signal slightly lower than 1Vp-p which did not work with the board when I tried to initially do an install. So I converted my USA ZX80 to the British spec by following the schematics and dumping the extra parts while changing the other two resistors to the British values which then allowed my ZX80 to enjoy decent video for the first time in 44 years.
