Learn Website design with Joomla,  Eight tuesday-evenings, 7-9PM, October 22 - December 10, 2012

 

This is a beginners course in website design using the Joomla Content Managment System.  This course is ideal for people wanting to create a website for their own business, or for employees assigned the task of improving or maintaining their company's or organization's website. 

You will learn about the following:
- how to register a domain name and purchase website hosting
- how to select and install an attractive, highly-functional template to style your website
- how to add content including text, images, links, videos, and more
- how to create easy-to-navigate menus
- how to create forms.
- how to optimize your website for search engines like Google and Bing

Prerequisites:

  • Computer literacy, - you can create new directories and store and find your documents. Send email messages with attachments.
  • Desire to do more than 2 hours per week of homework
  • Students must bring their own wireless-capable PC or MAC laptop to class.
 

Stewart 200wINSTRUCTOR: Stewart Newfeld designs websites for small businesses and non-profit organizations. He has taught Microsoft Networking and Website Design courses at NYU's Information Technology Institute, New Horizons, and various corporations and non-profits.
